Myriam de Wit currently based in Stuttgart, was born and raised in South

America, Colombia and Venezuela. Her passion with art, colour and move-

ment in any form began at a very young age. This fascination brought her to study at first in college Pensacola in the United States and then later on graduated in Arts from the University Jorge Tadeo Lozano in Bogota.

Since she moved 20 years ago to southern Germany she raised as a single

mother three children but never forgot her unique connection to art. After

taken many painting classes at the University Tübingen and receiving her

Honours Degree in Bachelor of Arts at the Art Academy Stuttgart, she finally decided to seek out that love again.

Myriam‘s style is a combination of both classical and direct painting methods.

Her paintings are an expression of gratitude and exploration of the relation

between body, space and movement. The subject becomes a mirror for her

innermost longing and emotions. Coming from a very cultural akin back-

ground, colour illustrate her obssesion with life‘s diversity and it‘s invigorating principle/ order. She works in both oil and acrilyc, finding the versatility and unpredictable nature of these mediums ideal for evoking colour, light and atmosphere. Etching, linoleum printing, sculpturing with clay and stone to name a few is one of many ways to experiment with her own bounderies.
